1929 STUDEBAKER President 8
‘Brooklands Sports Tourer’

At least two 1929 Straight 8 Studebakers imported into England as roadster chassis were bodied with 4 passenger English Sports Tourer fabric bodies with cycle type mudguards. Modifications included the fitting of Brooklands exhaust and aero screens.


The 5.5 litre President 8 straight eight side valve engine was rated at 39.2 hp (RAC), Raced at Brooklands these cars were capable in excess of 90 mph (144 kph) and averaged 71 mph (113 kph) for 24 hours when raced.
Wheel base 125”, 600x20” tyres.
