Ladies Choice Nov 18th 2012
The comfortable cafe at Mt Annan Botanical Gardens was booked for lunch and reserved parking for our cars allowed for judging of the vehicles for the Joy Bennett Memorial Ladies Choice Trophy.
The VMC line-up included a De Soto coupe, Pontiac Roadster and De Soto roadster, a newly acquired 1926 Studebaker coach on its first Club outing, a Plymouth roadster and Studebaker roadster.
After adorning the cars with the club ribbons (well why not advertise?), we wandered up to the cafe set in beautifully manicured, relaxing gardens. After lunch all the ladies were supplied with judging sheets and the cars duly inspected and marked. The results were announced shortly after and for 2013 the lovely Lalique glass bird trophy will be shared 6 months about by the Pontiac and the Studebaker.

CHMC Bush Council 1/2 Yearly Meeting Oct. 16th 2012
The VMC hosted delegates from around NSW to the Council of Heritage Motor Club's (Bush Council) ½ Yearly Meeting on October 19th at the Australiana Pioneer Village, Wilberforce.
The
Village proved to be popular and interesting, with most delegates never having
been there before, and many asking questions about its history and the original
historic buildings it preserves.
The VMC provided a welcome cuppa as delegates arrived for Registration and the complimentary and yummy morning tea, thanks the efforts of Sue, Kaye and Meg. A ploughmans lunch for over 60 people was catered for by the Damper Camp at the Village.
The Pioneer Village was not open to the public on the meeting day so delegates had the opportunity to quietly browse through many of the buildings specially opened up for us and also to relax around shady main street during the meal breaks.
We chose to host the meeting at the Pioneer Village for several reasons: because of its location on the outer fringe of Sydney, feeling that delegates would appreciate not having to travel through traffic; to show the Village and the Hawkesbury area as a potential rally destination for country clubs, encouraging them to skirt round outer Sydney using the quieter roads of the Hawkesbury, Camden and Southern Highlands regions; and because it offered a unique and interesting venue.

The VC Tour Sept.23rd - Oct. 6th
The VMC's Victorian Coastal and Country Tour followed on from the Anniversary Rally to Batemans Bay on Saturday Sept. 22. Cars - vintage, classic and modern journeyed over 2000kms down the Princes Highway, to Philip Island, the Mornington Peninsula and Geelong via the Sorrento Car Ferry. Where possible we used secondary roads and enjoyed the driving as well as stunning scenery. Highlights were touring the Great Ocean Road and driving historic cars through the Snowy Mountains.
Trainworks Run June 21st 2012
The Plymouth roadster with newly fitted trunk, the new acquired "winter" Sunbeam saloon, the Silver Ghost and the Pontiac were joined by some of the VMCs classic cars - the TR4 Triumphs and the MGB, as well as members and families travelling modern with some under 7's [because of the new child restraint laws!]. The refurbished and expanded Trainworks at Thirlmere proved a very popular day out as well as providing a good drive opportunity.
CHMC Bush Council Annual Easter Rally 2012
Not only did the VMC win the prestigious CHMC trophy, the Mal Mason Shield, but we had a great time doing that and everything else the host club, Orange District Antique Motor Club, arranged for the Rally.
The ODMC’s troop of ever helpful marshals entrants parked and guided more than 210 historic cars for the Rally and tours. As the VMC had nominated for our first ever go at the Mal Mason competition for clubs with the best display at the Annual Rally, the VMC cars were duly lined up, oldest to youngest car for judging. That was 10 historic cars from our smallish Club, 7 vintage, 3 post-vintage and classic, a record number from the VMC at the Easter Rally.
